And the winners are…

Caldecott 2015 winners

Phew, it’s been a busy couple of weeks. I’m happy to be back to writing and sharing what’s happening in the land of book illustration! And there’s BIG news since the Caldecott winners were announced recently. This is THE award for children’s book illustration. Dan Santat is the top winner this year with his book: The Adventures of Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend. It’s an even greater award because he did it all—he wrote and illustrated it.

Behind Dan are a group of other fabulous illustrators and books. I’m sharing 2 of my favorite HONOR BOOKS: Nana in the City illustrated by Lauren Castillo and The Noisy Paint Box: The Colors and Sounds of Kandinsky’s Abstract Art illustrated by Mary Grandpre. Both have delicious illustrations. You might recognize Mary’s art from the Harry Potter series too!

Happy Reading!
