My first Clothesline Art Festival was a huge success! Thank you very much to all who stopped by the AbbyDora Design booth. Your kind words and smiles made my heart sing! I feel reassured that YES I am on the right path and that my artwork speaks to people—both to the young and to the young at heart.

A special thank you too to all who were moved to break out in song and vocalize the “5 Little Speckled Frogs sitting on a Speckled log…”. I just loved it!

As you know my booth and my artwork is all about shape and color. I had an unexpected visitor over the weekend who is also a big fan of color.

AbbyDora Design booth will be at Clothesline Fest in Rochester, NY
My next festival location!

The summer is coming to an end and I’m prepping for my last art festival of the season. Luckily it’s a good one! AbbyDora Design will be participating in the Clothesline Festival is hosted by Rochester’s local art musuem: the Memorial Art Gallery. This outdoor festival takes place right on the grounds and in the sculpture garden of the art museum (how cool!).

This is one of Rochester’s longest running art festivals too. In fact the 2013 year is the festival’s 57th season! Clothesline prides itself on bringing together a great variety of artists. There will be printmakers, jewelry/metal artists, painters, fiber artists, potters, furniture designers just to name a few. I’m very honored to be included in the collection of this year’s artists.

Oh AND in addition to all the artwork, there will also be live music and an outdoor food court area featuring local Rochester restaurants and a NY State wine tasting tent. You will have to sample some for me!

Now for the festival details:

SEPT 7th & SEPT 8th
Saturday 10 am to 6 pm; Sunday 10 am to 5 pm

Admission: $5 at the gate; children 10 and under free if accompanied by an adult; includes Gallery admission. No pets (except service animals), bicyclists should enter at Prince Street and check bikes at the RCA Bicycle Valet. For parking information click here.

AbbyDora Design Booth will be located on the Goodman Street side of the art museum (Zone B). Keep those eyes out for my bright green and teal banner!

Once again, I’ll be featuring original and fine art prints of my children’s art. The prints are matted and will fit several standard frame sizes. I will also have my popular animal prints on wood panels. New for this festival are the holiday items! I’ll be showing several Halloween and Thanksgiving cards, and even a few Christmas/Hanukkah cards and holiday prints for home decoration.

I hope you will consider checking out this amazing festival and stopping by the AbbyDora Design booth!

Summer is in full swing, so that means: hot sunny days, star gazing nights, and…
ART FESTIVALS! I’m happy to announce that AbbyDora Design will again be at the 2013 PARK AVE FEST here in Rochester, New York!

Saturday August 3th 10am to 6pm | Sunday August 4th 10am to 5pm

The Park Ave Fest is popular outdoor festival in upstate New York. It’s one of my personal favorite ones, too. Visitors get to stroll along beautiful Park Avenue to see one of Rochester’s historic neighborhoods and see over 300 artists. All weekend long there will be great shopping, live music, kids entertainment, and delicious food from local restaurants.

The AbbyDora Design booth will be located at the corner of Vassar Street and Park Ave—same spot as last year.

I’ll be featuring lots of colorful original children’s illustration (more than last year!) and children’s art prints of all sizes. PLUS—we’ll have our handmade cards and invitations to help you pass on smiles.

Hope to see you there!

Monkey Panel Art

animal artwork

It’s June 1st and that means I’m in full production mode to prepare for the Corn Hill Festival happening on July 7th & 8th. The AbbyDora Design booth will have handmade greeting cards, stationery sets, art prints, and original artwork perfect for a child’s room or classroom.

The new item that I will be selling this year are 6″ x 6″ digital prints mounted to wood panels. Last week, I prepared a sample mounted panel with my monkey artwork and it turned out great!

The square digital prints are mounted to archival wood panels that are ready to hang with a nail slot already formatted into the back of each panel. Simply hook the nail into the slot and the artwork is on the wall!

Since these prints don’t need to be framed, they are a very affordable way to decorate your home! Beginning at the Corn Hill Festival in Rochester, New York the entire farm animal and wild animal collection will be available on wood panels.

These paintings are a series of two animal collections—FARM ANIMALS and WILD ANIMALS. Each print will be mounted to a 6″ x 6″ wood panel for easy hanging. The Farm Animals will also have their matching animal sounds added to them in the final print versions.

I love the colorful squares backgrounds! You will be able to mix and match these prints to built your own collection. They will be available for sale in late June in my shop, but if you are interested now let me know. I will make a note that you get one of the first panels off the production line!
