Our home is a blend of Christmas and Chanukah which we call, “Christmukah”.
I added a few touches of blue and gold to my own Christmukah celebration with these garlands around the house:
HANDMADE GOLD PAPER GARLAND

HANDMADE BLUE SNOWFLAKES GARLAND

Tonight we will celebrate the start of Chanukah with latkas and watching the candles burn low on our menorah on the mantle, next to our Charlie Brown Christmas Tree.
I love the holidays!

My whimsical handmade stripes and dots paper garlands and ornaments are so fun that they gave me inspiration for another baking project.

I love the combination of stripes and dots. The black and white color palette adds the right amount of sophistication too. If I was to host a stripes and pok-a-dot party, I would want a dessert to match. Brilliant! My first thought was chocolate. So I baked decadent chocolate brownies and covered them with vanilla frosting. The fun part comes next! I decorated the tops of the brownies with black decorating gel into stripes and pok-a-dots.

FYI: save time and stress and buy black decorating gel instead of making black from frosting. You’ll be a much happier baker. Ta-da! Amazingly cute brownies to compliment your party’s theme.

There are lots of new items in the AbbyDora Design Etsy shop this week! Finally, I’m happy to say that all the items displayed during the Park Ave Festival are available in my shop. Among the new products are high quality digital prints of my gouache and watercolor children’s illustrations. These prints look like real watercolor painting—all thanks to my amazing Epson printer and the find of the Summer, Hahnemuhle Digital German Etching paper. The paper looks and feels like fine art paper, but it’s able to hold the vivid colors of digital printing. Fabulous! Here are just a few examples of the prints you will see.

I’ve also created a vintage inspired bridal stationery set. I call this set the Savannah Stationery collection. For me it blends both the classic southern feel with a touch of modern design.

Then there are the playful paper garlands that would cheer up a children’s rooms, an office, classroom, or even a display window. All the garlands are hand cut and assembled here in my studio in Rochester, NY. A couple of the designs even feature original illustrations. Be sure to see all the designs in the Garland section of my Etsy shop.

With my shop updated I’ll be now focusing on the fast approaching Fall season the holidays that come with it. New artwork and card designs will be coming, so please stay tuned to AbbyDora Design!
